GeoRef Preview Database (AGI) GeoRef Preview Database contains recently indexed records from geoscience literature to be included later in the primary GeoRef database. GeoRef Preview is useful for locating recent information without retrieving numerous older records.  How to Search This Database
GeoScience World GeoScienceWorld (GSW) features full-text peer-reviewed articles from more than 30 important geoscience journals. GSW also provides indexing and full text coverage of most of these journals going back to 2000. A primary strength of GSW is its ability to search a full-text collection, but GSW is also integrated with the GeoRef database, so that customers can search both databases simultaneously.  How to Search This Database
Science Citation Index Expanded (1899-present) ISI Web of Knowledge (formerly- ISI Web of Science) provides seamless access to three citation indexes: the Science Citation Index, the Social Sciences Citation Index, and the Arts and Humanities Citation Index. These can be searched together or separately. Approximately 8,500 of the most prestigious research journals are indexed with abstracts within the Web of Science. Complete bibliographies are included for each citation allowing for cited reference searching.  How to Search This Database
SCOPUS SCOPUS is one of the largest article databases and covers the scientific, technical, medical, and social science literature - indexes over 19,500 peer-reviewed journal titles from over 5,000 publishers. Provides information to over 46 million articles and conference proceedings. The database covers the literature from 1966 to the present and is updated daily. Specifically, SCOPUS covers topics in biological and agricultural sciences, chemistry physics, mathematics, engineering, earth and environmental sciences, social science, psychology, economics, business/management, and history. SCOPUS covers 100% of the information indexed by the Medline database.  How to Search This Database
A to Z Maps Online This database features 146,000 maps on multidisciplinary subjects such as politics, geology, the environment, biology, and history.  It includes climate change maps,  hurricane maps, earthquake maps, volcano maps, fire maps, animal and plant species distribution maps, current event maps, political outline maps, and topographic maps. All these maps can be printed or downloaded for educational use.
A catalog of paper and digital maps for geology, hazards, earth resources, geophysics, geochemistry, geochronology, paleontology, and marine geology. Offers a variety of simple and complex searching options. The database also provides information on how to locate the maps, although many are available through the McDermott Library Catalog. Managed by the United States Geological Survey.
National Geographic Magazine has long been recognized as one of the world’ best magazines covering world cultures, nature, science, technology, and the environment, as well as having the highest quality photography and cartography. The National Geographic Magazine Archive online includes complete page-to-page coverage of every issue of the magazine from 1888 to 1994 in a high resolution color format. Even the advertising is included. The Archive is fully searchable and browsable. Maps and images can be searched separately and printed.
