The National Geographic Magazine Archive online includes complete page-to-page coverage of every issue of the magazine from 1888 to 1994 in a high resolution color format. Even the advertising is included. The Archive is fully searchable and browsable. Maps and images can be searched separately and printed.

Historical Statistics of the United States Historical Statistics of the United States is the principle source for quantitative indicators of American history. Previously published as a two volume set, this expanded online edition contains considerably more information than its printed hardback predecessor, including twice as many pages of data and documentation and a tripling of the number of data series -37,339 in the new online edition. Previously including data on population, work and welfare, economics, and other government collected data, more than a dozen new topics have been added such as American Indians, slavery, poverty, nonprofit organizations, and data on the Confederate States of America. Also, the chapters in the new online edition are preceded by essays that introduce the quantitative history of their subject, provide a guide to the sources, and offer expert advice on the reliability of the data and the limits that might be placed on their interpretation. More than eighty scholars contributed their efforts and expertise to assemble and document the data and to write the introductory essays. The data are readily available for charting, or statistical analysis, or regrouping across tables.
Early American Imprints, Series I (Evans, 1639-1800) and Supplement This full-text database is based on the renowned American Bibliography first published by Charles Evans. For decades Evan's Bibliography served as a cornerstone for research into American history, literature, philosophy, religion, agriculture, witchcraft, and other aspects of American life in the 17th and 18th centuries. With Early American Imprints, Series I, every item in Evan's Bibliography has been digitized and is now available online. It contains more than 37,000 publications. Series I also has a supplement from the archives of the Library Company of Philadelphia which includes nearly 1,000 pamphlets and broadsides published from 1670 to 1800. Early American Imprints, Series II (Shaw-Shoemaker,1801-1819) and Supplement This full-text database is based on the renowned Bibliography of Ralph Shaw and Richard Shoemaker. Containing more than 36,000 publications, the database provides access to rich primary source material for the early decades of 19th-century America, including coverage of politics, religion, war, economics, and social and cultural thought. A supplement from the archives of the Library Company of Philadelphia includes nearly 1,000 books, pamphlets, and broadsides spanning the inauguration of Thomas Jefferson to the Adams-Onis Treaty. It is a comprehensive guide to printed records about the Americas written in Europe between 1493 and 1750. It contains citations (no full text) for more than 32,000 entries covering the history of European exploration.
Arte Publico Hispanic Historical Collection: Series 1 Arte Publico Hispanic Historical Collection: Series 1 contains approximately 60,000 historical articles, hundreds of political and religious pamphlets and broadsides, and complete texts of over 1,100 historical books of Hispanic literature, political commentary and culture. Content is 80% Spanish and 20% English and searchable in both Spanish and English. This collection includes the Revista Chicano Riquena, a Latino journal whose mission is to promote dialogue among Latinos in the United States. While focusing on contemporary creative expression, it also considers more traditional cultural expressions. The text of Revista Chicano Riquena is 70% English and 30% Spanish.

Adams Papers Digital Edition This digital collection contains John Adams's complete diaries, selected legal papers, and the ongoing series of family correspondence and state papers. All 30 volumes of the Adams Papers are fully annotated. Originally published by Columbia University as a 17 volume printed set, The Papers of Alexander Hamilton are now available in online form.  The letters and other papers included span three decades and cover the years 1768 – 1794.  The database can be searched by keyword, personal name, state, and date range.  A Cumulative Index is available.

This digital edition offers the complete Papers released through 2009 in one online publication. Researchers may search the full text and by date, author, or recipient across all volumes and series.

Documents the life and work of one of the most important political and constitutional thinkers in our nation’s history. As chief author of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, secretary of state during the Louisiana Purchase, and the fourth president of the United States, James Madison (1751-1836) played a central role in the American founding and the growth of the early Republic. Users may browse documents categorized by the role Madison played in American politics (Congressman, Secretary of State, President), or they may search documents by keyword or date. The collection spans the 1750s to the 1820s.

Since 1950, the writings of the "author of the Declaration of American Independence, of the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom, [and] father of the University of Virginia" have been compiled in the ongoing project, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson. This database brings together all thirty-six volumes published through 2009 into one searchable online resource. In addition, it includes the first four volumes of the Retirement Series which documents the time between Jefferson's return to private life and his death in 1826.

Presidential Recordings of Lyndon Johnson Digital Edition The presidential recordings of Lyndon B. Johnson contain nearly 400 phone conversations, beginning in July 1964 and ending in July 1965. When completed, this collection will span Johnson's entire presidency. Each conversation is presented with its transcription and corresponding audio file. In addition to introductory essays providing historical context, the editors have prepared extensive annotations for each conversation.
The Documentary History of the Ratification of the Constitution Originally published in print form as a 28 volume landmark collection of historical scholarship, The Documentary History of the Ratification of the Constitution is now available in online form and traces the Constitution's progress from Philadelphia through each of state ratifying conventions. Including not only the official records of the conventions, The Documentary History also includes notes and commentaries about the Constitution published during and after ratification. Clotel Digital Edition Clotel, or The President's Daughter: A Narrative of Slave Life in the United States, by William Wells Brown Clotel, the first African American novel was published when its author was still legally a slave. This digital edition presents the full extant texts of the novel's four versions, published between 1853 and 1867. The fully searchable texts may be read individually or in parallel and are accompanied by generous biographical, critical, and historical commentary as well as line-by-line annotations and textual collation.

British Periodicals British Periodicals' Collections I and II consist of the full text of more than 460 journals published from the 1680s to the 1930s. The Times Literary Supplement (TLS) Historical Archive (1902-2005) contains every page of every copy of the TLS published from 1902 through 2006. Since 1902, The Times Literary Supplement has scrutinized and reviewed the work of leading writers and thinkers. It offers comprehensive coverage of the latest and most important publications in every subject and in several languages. It also reviews current theatre, cinema, music, and exhibitions. This database contains a facsimile edition of the London edition of the Financial Times from the first issue in 1888 till 2006. Every article, advertisement and market listing is included and shown in the context of the full page and issue of the day. This database is fully searchable with more than 800,000 pages.
The Economist
Historical Archive 1842-2006
Full-text content of more than 8,000 issues of the weekly news magazine, The Economist, which presents the world's political, business, scientific, technological, and cultural developments and the connections between them. Each issue of this editorially-rich publication is fully searchable, and includes full-color images, exportable financial tables, and a gallery of front covers highlighting a key topic of each week. The many Supplements, Special Reports and Surveys which appear regularly in The Economist are also included as part of the archive.

Enables users to easily search, retrieve and share articles from The Sunday Times electronic archive. Containing close to 600,000 pages, the Sunday Times archive is a gateway to analysis and commentary on news and society, including murder, theatre, sport and politics. The Founders Early Access The Founders Early Access is an online database of personal and official correspondence and other papers written by three of our Founding Fathers. With The Founders Early Access, researchers now have online access to the Presidential papers of George Washington for 1794, the papers of James Madison from 1823 - 1836, and the papers of John Adams from 1785 - 1798. The database can be searched by keyword, personal name, state, and date range.
Asia and the West: Diplomacy and Cultural Exchange- Nineteenth Century Collections Online Asia and the West: Diplomacy and Cultural Exchange features primary source material related to international relations between Asian countries and the West during the latter half of the 19th century. The documents in the database include government reports, diplomatic correspondence, periodicals, newspapers, treaties, trade agreements, and more. Documents are sourced from both U.S. and British consulates in Asian countries, from Christian missionary organizations in Asian countries, and from the official records relating to the Philippine Insurrection from 1988 - 1903. Provides access to large-scale maps of Texas towns and cities, published by the Sanborn Map Company, the primary American producer of fire insurance maps for nearly 100 years.
