| Entire books, audiovisual
materials, and photocopied material may be placed on traditional
Reserve. Professors’ personal material and library material
may also be placed on Reserve. Coursepacks from XanEdu and Consumables
(solution manuals that accompany text books, workbooks, etc.)
will NOT be placed on Reserve. Copyright for coursepacks is
non-transferable. Consumables are intended for one-time use
only, and therefore their placement on Reserve violates fair
use.
It is not UTD Libraries' policy to purchase textbooks and course required readings for the students. However, if UTD Libraries already have copies available, then these copies can be placed on Reserve. For courses taught in Richardson, bring your personal and/or library materials to be placed on Reserve to the Reserve Department, 3rd floor, Room 3.7. For courses taught at Callier Center in Dallas, bring materials to the Callier Library. Note: Personal copies of books have call number labels, loan period stickers, and barcodes affixed to them. They also have a security strip placed inside in an attempt to prevent theft. McDermott Library cannot be responsible for the replacement cost of damaged, lost or stolen materials.
