Provenance Statement

The Dale Ross Stith Papers were donated to the HAC Archives, Special Collections Department, Eugene McDermott Library, The University of Texas at Dallas, by Dale Ross Stith on August 15, 2008.

Note to the Researcher

The materials in this collection are in good condition. Original order was maintained. Sticky notes were left at their original location. Do not remove, since they provide valuable information to the content. Photographs – depending on their size - negatives, transparencies, and slides were housed in polypropylene sleeves in photo albums or interleaved with acid-free paper in the folders. The paper materials were removed from the albums and scrapbooks. Removal sheets indicate their location within the collection and are cross referenced. The same process was undertaken with floppy disks and compact disk (CD). One CD-R contained materials not pertinent to the collection. All appropriate files were copied and burned onto another CD-R. The original was sent back to the donor. The Social Security Numbers in personnel roster in Series VII., Subseries 1., Box 3, Folder 8, were redacted and the roster was photocopied onto acid-free paper. The original was moved from the collection and is for staff view only.

Materials Removed List

1.25 linear ft. (one record center box) of reunion and personal materials were taken back by the donor at the time of the original donation. .2 linear ft. (one halfsize manuscript box) of duplicate materials, CDs, floppy disks, prints, clippings, photographs, slides, and private documents that were not pertinent to the collection have been de-accessioned and were sent back to the donor.
