This community is designed for students who are interested in a deeper understanding and appreciation of all genres of music. Freshmen from all majors are welcome.

Have fun ... and learn too
Enjoy living in the new residence hall on campus where students have the opportunity to enjoy social events as well as classroom experiences with new friends. From music concerts to back stage tours, you'll discover a deeper appreciation of music.
Events and programs
- Take a behind-the-scenes tour of Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, Winspear Opera House, Eisemann Center, new Dallas Center for Performing Arts and other facilities
- Meet artists from area performing groups:
- Emanuel Borok — Violinist and Concert Master of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
- Jaap van Zweden — Conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
- William Kanengiser — Guitarist with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet
- Emanuel Borok — Violinist and Concert Master of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
- Hang out with DJs or even be a guest-host on a RadioUTD show and learn about new indie bands
- Attend private rehearsal of the Kremlin Chamber Orchestra
- Receive special invitations to VIP Meet the Artist Receptions at UT Dallas
- Receive special access to rehearsal facilities in the new music building, including private practice rooms and instrument storage
Required class experiences include
- Fall — MUSIC 1306 Understanding Music
- This class fulfills a degree requirement
Learn from university faculty
- Dine with our music faculty and learn the ropes from the professionals in our Food for Thought program
Volunteer in the surrounding communities
- Get involved with the local music scene by volunteering at the Eisemann Center, Dallas Arts Partners, Sounds of Class or the Annual Texas Classical Guitar competition
- Have the opportunity to spend Spring Break on a road trip to volunteer at cities around the country
