Living Learning Communities

This community is designed for students who have a common interest in social justice and social change. Enjoy a living experience that fosters a deeper appreciation for and understanding of social justice, community building and liberation. Freshmen from all majors are welcome.

This interest based community is designed for students interested in issues such as (but not limited to) poverty, food and hunger, impact of war, immigration, health care and education. - Meet experts in topics ranging from prison reform to green jobs in the Institute for Urban Policy Research Dialogue Series
- Enjoy a private dinner with keynote speaker of the Institute for Urban Policy Research Annual Conference
- Enjoy monthly Edutainment events with movies, poetry, music and discussion
- Dine in Dallas with local community activist
Invest in the surrounding communities
- Work with acclaimed architect in Congo Street rebuild project in South Dallas
- Help test soil for community gardens with New Roots campaign to create access to healthy food choices
- Meet with Mother’s Against Teen Violence about drug policies
- Work with Dallas youth around immigration issues
- Have the opportunity to spend Spring Break on a road trip to volunteer at cities around the country
