Established by Mrs. Eugene McDermott in support of her husband's dream, the McDermott Scholars program provides select UTD students with a rigorous and personalized education as well as intensive extracurricular activities.

Every semester and each summer, select McDermott Scholars disperse throughout the world to see its treasures with their own eyes. The Study Abroad Blog chronicles their travels to locations such as Greece, New Zealand, Argentina, China, Russia, and Ireland.
The Program has notified all finalists of their status in the selection process via phone or mail. We will officially announce the 2008 class with a UTD press release soon.

The latest class of McDermott Scholars, made up of seven women and seven men, includes six valedictorians and one salutatorian and boasts an average SAT score of 2180 out of 2400.
