Santa Fe - August 2006

As part of the freshmen orientation experience, our class enjoyed a trip to the cool and elevated city of Santa Fe. While staying at St. John's College, we rafted in the Rio Grande, ate at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, hiked the Atalaya Mountain, visited the Bandalier National Monument, and attended The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) opera. We even took the Sandia Tram while in Albuquerque and visited the Bradbury Science Museum. In addition, we listened to an array of lectures by UTD faculty and older McDermott scholars with topics including New Mexico's geology and research in neuroscience.
