Multicultural Peer Advocates (MPAs)

The MPAs are responsible for participating in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of the Multicultural Center’s programs. These students provide peer advising, tutoring, general office assistance, advising, diversity presentations, and assistance in recruitment of minority students. They also participate in freshmen orientation, Comet Camp and Scholars Weekend, create newsletter articles, maintain and update a resource library, and are knowledgeable of UT Dallas policies, rules and regulations. The MPAs are personal and academic role models on the campus; the success of the MPA program can be attributed in large, to the dedication, creativity, and leadership they have provided over the past fifteen years.

Vida Social

Vida Social is a program designed to bring together the Hispanic community on campus. The program is a night of food, fun, interactive games, activities and networking. This is also an opportunity for all of the campus Hispanic student organizations to come together and for non-affiliated students to hang out and meet each other. The night is ended with a traditional pinata breaking. The overall purpose is to create an environment for Hispanics to feel connected to each other, the community and to UT Dallas. The event is traditionally hosted in the phase II Waterview apartment clubhouse.

It is an intentional integration of academic and non-academic resources to foster learning-center interaction with faculty, staff, and peers.
