Comet S.T.A.R.S
Overview
The Comet S.T.A.R.S. Program is designed to provide academic support and promote campus involvement among 1st year students at UTD.
Participating students are matched with peer mentors to assist with the college life transition.
In order to establish stable and consistent ties to the university, the program requires a one year commitment from the mentors, as well as the 1st year students.
Mentor Requirements

GPA greater than 2.25.
- In good standing with the University.
- A full year remaining at UTD.
- Attend mandatory training session, August 13, 2007.
Protege Requirements
- Incoming 1st year student.
- Complete and return application.
- Attend mandatory training session, August 14, 2007 .
The success of the Comet S.T.A.R.S. Program is centered around the dedication from both Mentors & Protégés.
