The Negotiations Center is proud to announce the start of its new seminar series in Behavioral Research.
Our invited speakers include experimental and behavioral economists, social and cognitive psychologists, and researchers on the behavioral side
of marketing, management, operations, accounting and information systems. A list of the speakers and dates is below.
The seminar will be held in the Naveen Jinal School of Management on Mondays from 11:30am-1:00pm. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP.
We have constructed a mailing list of potentially interested faculty and PhD students. Each week we email a reminder about the following week's seminar, noting the location, soliciting individuals who would like to meet with the speaker, and providing a link to reserve your lunch.
If you would like to be included on this mailing list send a new message to negcent@utdallas.edu. You can also RSVP to reserve a lunch on this page by clicking the link under each speaker.
Please feel free to contact Amy Williams (x6015) for any questions or any additional information. We look forward to seeing you at the seminar!

Healthy nutritional choices at the household level depend on the interpersonal negotiation processes between parents and children. Also, intra-personal negotiation, resulting in present and future self trade-offs, influence individual health and weight outcomes. Two separate research studies use economic experiments to evaluate the influence of interpersonal and intra-personal negotiations on mother, child and individual weight-related health outcomes. The results indicate children with excessive demand patterns are at higher risk of overweight and obesity. Guilt averse individuals with a present-bias are more likely to actively ignore future health risks of the food they eat today. | Papers | Room: JSOM 1.508 |
