President Ford Postage Stamp to be Unveiled at UT Dallas

UT Dallas has been chosen as one of a handful of sites nationally to unveil a commemorative postage stamp of President Gerald R. Ford. The University’s Wineburgh Philatelic Research Library will host the first-day dedication for the United States Postal Service (USPS) — the third time the special collection library has been chosen for a stamp dedication. Other ceremonies are planned at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library in Grand Rapids, Mich. and at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Stamps and other special commemorative items will be available for purchase.

nationwide release of the stamp at U.S. post offices

VISUAL:
Commemorative stamps of Ford painted by portrait artist Michael J. Deas, who also designed a stamp of President Ronald Reagan.
PARKING:
News media should enter campus from the main entrance at the intersection of Campbell Road and University Drive. Stop at the Information Booth to request a visitor’s parking pass and campus map. The closest public parking is in Lot G.
