Journal Borrows Public Affairs Prof’s Expertise
Public Affairs professor and program director Douglas J. Watson has been asked to sit on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management.
Dr. Watson teaches courses in human resource management, economic development, organization theory, and local government management in the Master of Public Affairs program and the Ph.D. program in Public Affairs.
He is a former city manager who worked for three cities over the course of 30 years, most recently the city of Auburn, Ala., where he served from 1983 to 2003.
Before this most recent appointment, Dr. Watson served or had served on the editorial boards of six peer-reviewed journals, including the Public Administration Review.
He has also been author, co-author or editor of several books on local government in American cities, including Local Government Management: Current Issues and Best Practices.
The Public Affairs Program is part of the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences.
