Student Athletes Honored for Off-Field Achievements

35 Comets Recognized at Banquet For Maintaining GPAs of 3.5 or Higher

Thirty-five UTD student-athletes were honored Tuesday for their success in the classroom at the first annual UT Dallas Athletic Department Student-Athlete Academic Recognition Luncheon.

The athletes were selected for the honor based on cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher.

In addition, honorees had to have completed at least two semesters of study at UT Dallas.

The student-athletes were joined at the Galaxy Room luncheon by UT Dallas administrators, their coaches, parents and faculty members whom the honorees invited as special guests.

The UTD Athletic Department plans to make the luncheon an annual event.
