Dallas Chamber Orchestra to Present ‘An Evening of Great Chamber Music’
April 8, 2008
The Dallas Chamber Orchestra will present An Evening of Great Chamber Music at The University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday, April 12, in the Jonsson Performance Hall at 8 p.m.
Founded in 1977 by Ronald Neal, the Dallas Chamber Orchestra is composed of many of the leading musicians in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, generally arranged in performing ensembles of four to 15. For this performance, the ensemble will include UT Dallas faculty members Ronald Neal (violin) and Enric Madriguera (guitar) in addition to Susan Dubois(viola), Daredjan “Baya” Kakouberi (pianist) and Eugene Osadchy (cello).
Directed by Neal, the Dallas Chamber Orchestra performs without a conductor, in the traditional manner of smaller orchestras. A writer for High Fidelity Musical America called the Dallas Chamber Orchestra “an ensemble of notable refinement and artistry.”
The program will include Andante Largo by Fernando Sor, theme and variations on Folia de Espagne by Mauro Giuliani, Romanza for Guitar and Violin by Nicolo Paganini, Fandango Quintet in D Major by Luigi Boccherini and Quartet in g minor for Piano and Strings, Op.25 by Johannes Brahms.
