Safety Officials to Teach at Emergency Conference
Topics to Include Disaster Preparedness and Conducting Investigations

UT Dallas Police Lt. Steve Finney and Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Dorothy Miller will present training sessions for their colleagues at the School-based Law Enforcement Conference.
Lt. Finney will present a session on conducting investigations on university campuses at the conference, set for June 29-July 3 in Corpus Christi.
Ms. Miller will present a training session on emergency preparedness tools on university campuses.
The School-Based Law Enforcement Conference offers training on school safety and security to school administrators, teachers, parents and school-based law enforcement officers.
Topics include:
- Emergency Operations Planning.
- Active Shooter Tactical Response.
- Homeland Security & Your Campus.
- Gang Awareness/Intervention.
- Dating Violence.
- Incident Command System.
- Current Drug Trends.
More than 400 law enforcement officers from across Texas are expected.
This is the conference’s sixth year. It is sponsored by The Center for Safe Communities & Schools and Texas School Safety Center, Center for Safe Communities & Schools.
