Undergraduate Education Moves to New Digs

July 2, 2008

Effective Monday, June 30, the Office of Undergraduate Education joined UT Dallas’ honors program Collegium V in the newly remodeled Green Center.

The office, previously located in Room 3.206 of the Multipurpose and Administration Building, is now in Room 2.200 of the Green Center.

Included in the relocation are staffers for the Terry Scholars Program, the Academic Distinction Scholarships, the Pre-Law Advising and the Academic Excellence Scholarships for National Merit Scholars, among others.

Also new and located in the Green Center plaza are five picnic tables with umbrellas and several large planters.

“We hope it will be a cool and inviting area for students to meet, especially in the hot days of summer,” said Cathie Alexander, assistant dean of Undergraduate Education at the University.

Headed by Dr. Michael Coleman, the Office of Undergraduate Education is responsible for the freshman admission review process, coordination of academic advising, management of pre-professional training programs and various scholarship programs.

Alexander said the office will hold an open house/coffee break for faculty and staff 8:30-10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23.

Collegium V occupies the lower level of the Green Center.  Accommodations there include a lounge, computer rooms, the Clark Reading Library and a small kitchen.  The CV program offers challenging instruction and frequent interaction between faculty and students.
