Utility Upgrades to Interrupt Computer Services

Utility work will interrupt service on campus computer systems Saturday and Sunday, as work crews upgrade electrical power to the UT Dallas Multipurpose and Administration buildings.
The disruptions will start at 6 p.m. Saturday, when workers will take systems offline on a phased basis. Service is expected to be restored at noon Sunday.
Systems and services that will be unavailable during the electric power outage include:
- WebCT.
- Outlook Exchange email services.
- Student Information System.
- Human Resources System.
- Financial System (FRS/FINS).
- Self-Service (Web) for students, faculty and employees.
- Payment Gateway.
- Budget Information System (BIS).
- Galaxy.
- MarketPlace.
- OnBase Imaging.
- E Print.
- Callier BU Systems.
- IDentiPASS.
- Breeze.
- FsaAtlas.
- Administrative FTP services.
- Xythos.
- Mobile communications services, including Rim/Blackberry, Treo/Goodlink, and Windows Mobile.
- Instant Messaging.
- Allshare drives.
- Network Departmental drives.
- Network home drives.
- LTS.
The Information Resources HelpDesk will be open during normal operating hours Saturday and Sunday. McDermott Library also will keep regular hours, as will the Sonora Computer Lab and Jonsson Computer Lab.
Information Resources asks employees with offices in the Multipurpose and Administration buildings to turn off personal computers, workstations and departmental printers before leaving campus on Friday and Saturday. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) devices should also be turned off and unplugged.
