Police Hire New Head of Community Relations

The UT Dallas Police Department has hired Timothy A. Dorsey as commander of its Office of Administration & Community Relations.
Lt. Dorsey will be responsible for the Division of Community Programs and Community Relations & Crime Prevention Units.
In addition, he will be responsible for the department’s Police Accreditation Section and the Division of Dallas Campuses (Callier Dallas and Center for Brain Health).
Lt. Dorsey previously served as a sergeant with both the Allen and Murphy police departments.
He is certified as a Master Peace Officer and is state-licensed as a police instructor and crime prevention inspector. He is a graduate of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration and an active member of the North Texas Crime Prevention Association.
Lt. Dorsey serves with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and holds a bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University (Texas A&M Commerce).He was also elected and currently serves as President of the Texas Law Enforcement Explorer Advisors Association. He has received several Police Commendations and Recognitions.
