Tipoff for the Saturday game has set for 7 p.m. in Trinity’s Bell Athletic Center.
The three-week Division III national tournament culminates in the Final Four Tournament March 20-21 in Salem, Va.
A victory this weekend may put UT Dallas in line to host a “Sweet 16” sectional tournament March 13-14.
The Comets earned the automatic berth in the tournament by winning the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Sunday with an 82-75 victory over Mississippi College. UT Dallas has made just one prior NCAA Tournament appearance.
UT Dallas will enter the tournament enjoying its best season in the 11-year history of the program. The Comets are 24-4 and have been ranked nationally this season.
UT Dallas’ women’s team, which was also ranked highly this season before finishing 23-5, lost in the quarterfinals of the ASC Championship Tournament and was not selected for an at-large bid in the NCAA national tournament.
