March 12, 2009

The men’s basketball team got a rousing send-off at a pep rally Tuesday before the team headed to Ohio for its first-ever NCAA “Sweet 16” tournament game.

The Comets will play Capital University at 5 p.m. Richardson time Friday in the first game of a four-team sectional playoff. UT Dallas fans will be able to hear a live webcast of the game on Radio UTD.

The tournament will be hosted by John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.

If the Comets win their game Friday, they will hit the court again Saturday to play for the right to advance to the Division III Final Four championship games.
