Four Police Department Employees Placed on Leave
June 5, 2009
Friday four employees of the UT Dallas Police Department were placed on administrative leave, including the assistant chief of police. The action was taken as a result of an ongoing investigation.
The University of Texas at Dallas and The University of Texas System initiated the investigation this spring. The investigation relates to the use of state resources. None of the activity in question constituted a disruption to basic law enforcement functions or the continuing safety of students, faculty or staff.
During the course of this investigation, UT Dallas Police Chief Colleen Ridge was placed on administrative leave. She resigned her position Monday, May 11, 2009. She had been on leave since April 16.
UT System Assistant Director of Police Mike Tacker currently serves as the University’s acting chief at the request of UT Dallas President David E. Daniel.
