Homecoming Takes Up Old Place in Fall Schedule
Oct. 27, 2009
UT Dallas Homecoming returns to campus this week – for the second time in 2009.
The University decided to move the week of festivities back to the fall for the 2009-10 school year after a one-year experiment with holding the annual event in the spring.
Homecoming has been an annual tradition since 1993.
This year’s celebration has a carnival theme. Festivities begin on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and run through Halloween night. Highlights include a homecoming parade, the election of this year’s homecoming court, casino and dance night, the 3rd Annual Athletics Hall of Honors Induction, a family tailgate party and “trunk-or-treat” community-service events.
Several competitions are scheduled, including a spirit showdown among student organizations, a door-decorating contest, a cheer competition, a pumpkin-carving contest and a balcony-decorating contest.
Consult the University homecoming page for complete list details and locations.
