All Invited to President's State of University Address
Nov. 2, 2009
The President’s Office invites faculty, staff, students, retirees and the public to the Conference Center Auditorium at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, for the 2009 State of Our University Address.
The event will open with a convening of the Annual General Faculty Meeting by Dr. Murray Leaf, speaker of the faculty. Student Government President Diana Kao and Staff Council President Daniel Calhoun will also speak briefly.
Dr. David E. Daniel, president of The University of Texas at Dallas, will deliver the annual State of Our University address, which will be followed by time for questions from the audience.
The address will be followed by a reception. Immediately following the reception, members of the Academic Council are invited to proceed to their regularly scheduled meeting in the Osborne Conference Room in ECSS 3.503.
“It has become a regular practice for the president to make the presentation to the staff as well as faculty,” said Leaf. “This year, at President Daniel's request, the Senate and Staff Council have agreed to combine the two meetings and also open it to the general community.” Students are encouraged to attend.
Staff Council will probably schedule a separate meeting to give the president a general report on council progress later this academic year, Calhoun said.
