Student Athletes Named to Conference Teams

Twenty-two UT Dallas athletes have been named to the American Southwest Conference Spring 2010 All-Academic Teams, capping a 2009-10 calendar year in which 58 Comets received similar honors.
More than 350 student athletes in five ASC championship sports — golf, tennis, track and field, softball and baseball — were named from the league’s 15 member institutions. UT Dallas, which led all winter sports with 15 individual awardees, landed athletes on the following spring teams:
Baseball: 7
Men’s golf: 5
Softball: 4
Men’s tennis: 2
Women’s tennis: 2
Women’s golf: 2
To be eligible for all-academic status, athletes must be in their second academic year at their respective institutions and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00.
