The first career fair of the fall semester is expected to draw heavy interest.
The Sept. 15 event will include employers discussing full-time and part-time opportunities as well as internships, and general career information from a variety of industries. The expo is open to current students and alumni.
Michael Doty
The fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UT Dallas Activity Center.
Michael Doty, director of the UT Dallas Career Center, said he is expecting a large student turnout because of the high caliber of employers recruiting across all academic disciplines.
“The employers attending do so because UT Dallas students are highly sought,” Doty said. “It’s widely known among employers that our students are focused on finding the right job that matches the path they’ve charted for their education. In fact, employers regularly comment about the professional, polished appearance of our students.”
Some of the employers slated to attend include Alcatel-Lucent, the Dallas Police Department, Sherwin-Williams, Texas Instruments and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Business attire, resumes and identification are required to attend the expo. More information is available at the Career Center website.
