Mud and Mayhem Mark Annual Oozeball Tournament
May 13, 2011
Spring at UT Dallas means it’s time to get down and dirty at the University’s annual Oozeball tournament.
The slippery, mud-filled game is a close cousin of volleyball — except that the net is stretched across a surface that bears a striking resemblance to a pig’s pen. (And there’s no walking away from this court without a good, long shower.)
During the day-long tournament, 16 student teams battled it out for the title of Oozeball champions.
Mud Up or Shut Up won the tournament. The faculty and staff team won its annual match against students.
Oozeball has been a tradition at the University since 2002. The theme for this year’s event was “I Pity Da Ooz,” a play on the famous line by television personality Mr. T.
