Scenes from Oozeball 2013: Students Make Memories in the Mud

Founded by the Student Ambassadors in 2002, Oozeball is one of UT Dallas' popular traditions. The annual event pits student teams against one another in a mud volleyball tournament.

According to Elizabeth Sohns, Student Ambassadors Oozeball chair, 21 teams battled to be the tournament winner this year. In addition, the faculty/staff team won its annual match against the Student Government team.

“Overall, the event was a lot of fun for everyone,” Sohns said. “The food trucks there were something new for us this year, and I think everyone enjoyed them. The new location of the courts was great because it gave Oozeball its own designated location, and Facilities (Management) did a great job with building the courts for us. This is an annual tradition for Student Ambassadors, and I think it will only continue to grow each year.”

Students played tug of war in the mud pits during Oozeball. The annual event included mud volleyball, tug of war and wheelbarrow races. New this year was the Student Union and Activities Advisory Board's Dirty Dallas Music Festival, which featured local musicians and food trucks.
