Naveen Jindal School of Management

U.S. News & World Report ranks the Naveen Jindal School of Management’s online graduate business programs No. 2 and its online MBA program No. 6.

The Naveen Jindal School of Management’s online MBA and online graduate business programs are listed among the nation’s top 10 by U.S. News & World Report in its newly released 2015 Best Online Programs rankings.

The report ranks the school’s online graduate business programs No. 2 and its online MBA program No. 6.

Both rankings highlight the Jindal School's commitment to students who are seeking a traditional MBA degree as well as those who seek specialized professional development offered by an MS degree, said Dr. Hasan Pirkul, Jindal School dean and Caruth Chair of Management.

“We’re excited that U.S. News recognizes the Jindal School among the top institutions providing graduate business degrees online,” Pirkul said. “The school’s faculty and staff strive to provide a high-quality online education that meets the needs of busy professionals who want to advance their careers and need the flexibility of complete online delivery.”

JSOM Launches
New Website

The Naveen Jindal School of Management recently launched a revamped website — jindal.utdallas.edu — that is easier to use and mobile-friendly.

For the first time since it began ranking online business programs in 2012, U.S. News split its online graduate business rankings into two — one for online MBA programs and one for all other online graduate business programs. In the 2014 rankings, the Jindal School’s combined standing was No. 4.

The rankings include Jindal School degree programs provided completely online. The school offers an online MBA and online master’s degrees in accounting and information technology and management. Although not included in the rankings, the school offers other online options in its Executive Education area, which are geared to meet the advanced educational needs of those with five to 10 years of workforce experience. These online degrees include Project Management, a Global Leadership Executive MBA (GLEMBA) and an Executive master’s in Management and Administrative Sciences with a project management emphasis.

In this year’s report, U.S. News compared nearly 200 schools for the online MBA standings and 118 for the rankings that included all other online business programs. The positioning was based on data received in five categories: student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials, and student services and technology.

The highest possible score in both rankings was 100. The Jindal School’s score was 95 in the online graduate business programs rankings and 90 in the MBA rankings.

The Jindal School’s performance in U.S. News’ latest rankings demonstrates many years of attention to the online needs of the students, said Dr. Monica Powell, associate dean for graduate programs.

“We were an early pioneer in delivering online education, so we’ve had the opportunity to figure out what really works in the online environment,” Powell said. “We continue to make enhancements to our curriculum and develop innovative programs that provide quality education to students who can’t travel to campus.”
