U. T. Dallas to Host Symposium
On Executive Challenges in Accounting

    RICHARDSON, Texas (Nov. 13, 2002) - The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) will host the fourth Texas Symposium Friday and Saturday in Room CN1.120 of the Conference Center on campus. The theme of this year's event is "Contemporary Challenges Facing the Accounting Profession," and the two-day symposium will focus on the future of the public accounting profession and challenges for executives responsible for financial reporting.

    The Texas Symposium Series is organized by the Accounting and Information Management Area of the School of Management at UTD. The event is open to the public and the cost of admission is $100 per person.

    The Friday session will run from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature panel discussions and presentations about contemporary challenges facing the accounting profession. The Saturday session will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature presentations of current research.

    The presenters and panelists will include academic researchers from the Pennsylvania State University, SMU, Texas A&M, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Oklahoma, the University of Rochester and UTD along with senior executives from Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
