U. T. Dallas To Present Dance Production,
RICHARDSON, Texas (April 2, 2004) —The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) will present The M Project, a dance production, on Friday, April 9, and Saturday, April 10, beginning at 8 p.m. both nights, in the University Theatre on campus.
The M Project, created by UTD faculty members Michele Hanlon and Micki Saba, brings vibrant, high-quality, professional dance choreography and performance to the university. Two of the goals of the project are to strengthen the UTD community through artistic excellence and to provide a source of inspiration for dance career-bound students.
This year, The M Project will feature members of both elledanceworks and Ewert & Company as well as the choreographic talents of guest choreographer Lori Darley.
Darley is the former artistic director for Dancers Unlimited, which she co-founded and directed for more than 20 years. She directed and choreographed the original production, The Shopper's Guide to the Center of the Universe, which ran at the Dallas Theater Center to both popular and critical acclaim. Her works have been set on such companies as Dallas Black Dance Theater, Chamberlain Ballet and Lone Star Ballet as well as in theatrical productions for the Dallas Theater Center and the Deep Ellum Opera. Currently, she teaches at Chamberlain Ballet and for Move Studio.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students and free at the door to UTD students with a valid identification. Ticket office hours for advance purchase are from 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. To purchase tickets using Visa, MasterCard or Discover, please call 972-883-2787.
