Career Expos Help Seniors Explore Post-Undergrad Options |

Feb. 19, 2013 Spring semester brings a renewed focus on career options for seniors set to be graduates in a few months. To answer the call, the UT Dallas Career Center will host a series of career expos in upcoming weeks to help students connect with employers from school districts, nonprofit organizations, corporations, small businesses and government agencies. “We want to do all we can to provide students with an opportunity to meet prospective employers and to network with others in their chosen fields before they leave campus,” said Lisa Garza, director of the Career Center. The expos are open only to currently enrolled students and alumni who have earned degrees from UT Dallas. For a list of employers scheduled to attend, check the Career Center Web site. The full spring expo lineup is as follows: Public Agency ExpoWednesday, Feb. 2011 a.m. to 2 p.m. Student Union - Galaxy Rooms This event offers UT Dallas students and alumni of all majors an opportunity to interact with employers from municipalities and nonprofit organizations, as well as city, state and federal governments about possible internships, full-time and part-time positions, as well as volunteer opportunities. Professional dress is suggested, and Comet Cards are required. Career Expo DaysWednesday, March 20 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)Thursday, March 21 - All Majors (non-STEM)11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activity Center These Expos offer internships and co-ops, full-time and part-time employment opportunities, as well as general career information from a variety of industry sectors. Professional dress and Comet Card are required. Teacher Career ExpoWednesday, March 273 p.m. to 5 p.m. Student Union - Galaxy Rooms The event is designed primarily for students involved in the Teacher Certification Program, but it is also open to all UT Dallas students and alumni interested in pursuing careers in K-12 education.Health Professions School ExpoTuesday, April 94 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visitor Center Bookstore AtriumThe Health Professions Advising Center (HPAC) is co-sponsoring this expo.
