E-Mail Users Warned to Watch Out for Phishing Scams, Nov 1
The Information Security Office is warning e-mail users to exercise caution after a flurry of phishing scam reports. Phishing is a form of theft in which the intent is to steal valuable personal data, such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, passwords, account data or other information. The end result may be unauthorized access to computer, bank or credit accounts. No one at UT Dallas will ask for e-mail IDs or passwords for any reason. If someone does, contact the Information Security Office at infosecurity@utdallas.edu.
