UTD Geosciences Ph.D. Candidate Receives Award from American Association of Petroleum Geologists
(June 22, 2005) - The School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics is proud to congratulate Nahid DS Gani, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Geosciences, who has received an American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Award for presenting one of the best oral presentations (4th place) by a graduate student during the AAPG annual meeting which was held in Calgary in June.
Nahid's presentation is titled "What is controlling the Gorge of the Nile? An integrated approach of ASTER, RADARSAT, Digital Elevation Models and Field Studies."
Nahid has received an award of $200 and the UTD AAPG chapter will receive $400.
The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics places great importance on the work of its talented and committed students.
