The School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics places great importance on the work of talented and committed teachers. Each year, students are asked for help identifying faculty and teaching assistants worthy of recognition for extraordinary efforts they make to provide our students a top quality natural sciences & mathematics education. The school awards one outstanding faculty instructor and one outstanding teaching assistant.
Students, please nominate the professor (or lecturer) and the teaching assistant within the School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics (NS&M) that have made the biggest positive impact on your education. Supporting documentation, such as letters from other students, may help the nomination. Faculty members are welcome to nominate colleagues, but evidence of student support for the nomination will receive more weight.
The faculty award is a plaque and the teaching assistant award is a plaque and a cheque for $500. Both recipients' names will be inscribed on a plaque in the dean's office. Nomination forms can either be downloaded above, or they can be requested in person from the dean's office or any of the offices of NS&M departments – biology, chemistry, geosciences, mathematics, physics, or science/mathematics education.
