Course Access and navigation
Most of our online courses were developed using a web-course tool called eLearning (WebCT Vista). Courses are delivered entirely online.

For more information on how to access and navigate eLearning, please see the Getting started: Student eLearning Orientation. Within the course site, students can always click HELP on the eLearning Menu Bar to find information and answers.

Obtaining Textbooks

Textbooks and other bookstore materials can be ordered online through the UT Dallas Bookstore or Off Campus Books. They are also available online at MBS Direct Virtual Bookstore.

Advising
Advising is done in the school in which you intend to major. Additionally, many distance education degree programs have a program coordinator who can also provide advice and assistance. See our Degree Programs for more information.

UT Dallas Career Center provides career counseling, resume critique, and online job listings.

Financial Aid
In the Financial Aid web site you will find information about applying for financial aid, important deadlines you need to know, the various financial aid programs offered at UTD, and contact information for your specific financial aid counselor.

Comet Card
Comet Card is the official identification card for all UT Dallas students, faculty, and staff. You have to use the identification number on the Comet Card to access UT Dallas library. You may obtain your Comet Card at the Info Depot in the Student Union, or send an email to the Comet Card office requesting an ID.

Email must include:

  • Complete Student name
  • Return mailing address (where to mail card)
  • A .JPG “head shot” photo file attached to the email
  • Fax a copy of Driver’s License (copy must be enlarged so we can see the picture on it). The fax number is 972-883-6144
