DID YOU KNOW that there are cells in the Big Ben clock tower? Members of Parliament can be imprisoned there for a breach of parliamentary privilege.
Imprisonment, however, is rare: the last recorded case of a member being imprisoned was in 1880.

Director's Message

Welcome to the UTD Office of International Education (OIE) webpage!

The OIE team embraces the 2010-11 academic year to meet the expectations of our growing UTD community, whose input into the international education agenda has been fundamental to define and shape our annual strategic plan.

Over the past five years, seven types of mobility have been defined and consolidated: Study Abroad, Exchange Mobility, Internships, Independent Study, Customized Programs, Research, and Non-Credit Programs. As of Summer 2010, UTD has formalized more than eighty international collaborations with some of the most prestigious universities around the world, including eighteen exchange program agreements.

I have the privilege to communicate that three hundred and forty nine (349) UTD students pursued international educational programs during the academic year 2009-10, a growth of 13.7% over the previous academic year. Many of these students obtained support from the UTD International Education Fund Scholarship.

This growth would not have been possible without the guidance of UTD leaders, administrative, and academic units that have been essential for shaping the OIE functions during the last four years and helped us to provide accessible, simple, and efficient services to our students. Thank you all!

I hope you find this information helpful. If you have comments or suggestions for this web page, please contact Pablo Trinidad, OIE web master, at trinidad@utdallas.edu or me.

One more time, welcome to the OIE web page!

Sincerely,

Rodolfo
