Exchange Programs

OIE has a variety of exchange programs that allow UT Dallas students an opportunity to develop their educational and personal goals while studying abroad. Programs identified as "Exchange" mean that you study abroad at University "A," while a student from this same institution comes to study at UT Dallas. This exchange normally allows you to pay a similar amount as if you were completing a semester at UT Dallas in terms of tuition, fees, books, and in many cases, room and board.

UT Dallas has exchange agreements with some of the best schools in the world and when you go overseas, taking classes at these premier institutions will enable you to learn different perspectives from different cultures. Participating in an exchange program will allow you to enhance your foreign language and intercultural skills, as well as establish friendships with local students and other exchange students from around the world.

UT Dallas exchange programs are subject to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) guidelines.

 

General Nomination and Acceptance Process

1. Submission of OIE Application and UT Dallas transcript at least six (6) months prior to the semester the student would like to do her/his exchange program.
2. OIE reviews and endorses application (if student meets criteria).
3. OIE nominates student to host institution.
4. Host institution international office reviews nomination.
5. Host institution international office forwards application to its admission office.
6. Host institution issues acceptance.
Notes:
- Students are required to satisfy the institutional protocol before deadlines to be able to pursue an exchange program. Deadlines may vary according to the academic calendar of each host institution. Please visit the web section of deadlines and institutional protocol.
- Participation in a study abroad program is contingent upon the approval of your academic advisor.
- Full time status and a minimum GPA of 3.0 are required.
- Portfolio of courses is subject to the review and approval from both UT Dallas and host institution.

University of Wollongong

The University of Wollongong is a leading Australian university with an international reputation for academic excellence. UOW has been placed in the top 2% of universities in the world by its performance in both the 2009 Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World universities and The Times Higher Education - QS World University Rankings 2009. It is consistently ranked among the top Australian universities for the quality of its teaching, research, graduate employment rates and student experience. WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business)

WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business is the largest University focusing on business and economics in Europe and, in terms of student body, one of the largest universities in Austria. It has been ranked as one of the best business schools in Europe. Until 2008, its official name in English was "Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration”. In 2009 Vienna University of Economics and Business was ranked as one of the best business schools in the German speaking countries according to Handelsblatt and in 2011 it was ranked 21st in the list of the 392 worldwide leading higher education institutions by Mines ParisTech. The study obtained the higher education career of the CEOs of the world's leading 500 companies. In 2011 the university's master program in management was ranked 18th in Europe. Furthermore it was ranked 28th in European Business Schools in the "European Business School Ranking 2011" by Financial Times. The Financial Times has ranked WU Wien as one of the top 50 European Business Schools (#16 in 2009 for the master program International Business Administration). University of Hong Kong

The City University of Hong Kong (CityU) motto is Officium et Civitas, implicating the education philosophy of the university and also its role as educating and training professionally-oriented students. The university has a community of more than 12,000 undergraduate and 3,000 postgraduate. International students account for around 5% of the student population. Originally founded as "City Polytechnic of Hong Kong" in 1984, City University of Hong Kong was granted university status on 1 January 1995. During the past 20 years, it has grown from a small institution, housed in temporary premises, offering 9 academic programmes to less than 1,000 students, to a major University with an international reputation for teaching and scholarship, enrolling over 20,000 students on programs of all levels from associate degree to postgraduate research. CityU ranks among the best 200 universities (178th) and its social sciences departments/programmes have been ranked 61st of the top 100 in the world by the Times Higher Education Supplement in UK signifying the growing international standing of the University. The university's School of Law is the first in Hong Kong to offer a J.D. degree program.

Beijing Jiaotong University


Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), located at Xizhimenwai of Beijing, is a national key university of China, directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. Over the past hundred years, after arduous efforts and struggles of generations, BJTU has developed into a multidisciplinary key university, featuring Engineering, Management, Economics, Science and Humanities. The university has about 2700 faculty and staff members. There are nearly 19,000 full-time students, including about 14,000 undergraduate students, 5,000 graduate students and 150 overseas students. BJTU is one of the first universities authorized by the central government to enroll overseas students. So far, BJTU has trained over 2,600 foreign students and visiting scholars from as many as 40 countries and regions including Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.

Harbin Institute of Technology

Harbin Institute of Technology is a research university in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. Harbin Institute of Technology consists of three campuses: the main campus in Harbin, HIT in Weihai and HIT Shenzhen Graduate School. Harbin Institute of Technology is widely recognized as one of the top universities in China. As a famous university in China, HIT is known for its selectivity in several decades. Usually, only the students having very high scores in the National Higher Education Entrance Examination can be admitted into the undergraduate programs. Admission into the graduate school is also very competitive. HIT operates on a year round schedule that includes a fall and spring semester. Winter and summer holidays are placed between semesters. In all holidays, the dormitories and part of the dining halls remain open to students. HIT has a very strict standard in education. The motto, “Being strict in qualifications for graduates; making every endeavor in educating students”, which is quite different from the motto of other universities, reflects the tradition of HIT. Both theories and applications are emphasized. Instructors are required to have very good preparation for lectures.

The University of Orleans

The university of Orleans located in France's famous Chateaux country, this university has been one of Europe's foremost centres of learning since the middle ages. The city of Orleans is a regional capital with a population of 220,000, and its mild climate attracts many visitors year round. Today, the university accommodates 16, 000 students and classes can be taken in any of the three colleges - the Schol of Law and Business, Liberal Arts and Science, the Institute of Technology and the School of Engineering.

GERMANY:

Philipps University Marburg

The Philipps University, located in the picturesque city of Marburg, in central Germany about an hour north of Frankfurt, offers a complete range of scholarly disciplines (including the humanities and the natural and social sciences; schools of law, management, medicine, and theology; but no engineering programs). In line with the developing integration of European universities through the Bologna agreements, Marburg has introduced bachelor’s and master’s degrees into its regular curriculum and facilitated transfer of course credits. At the same time, the university has developed special programs (taught in English and German) for international students, who make up about 11% of the 22,000 students in this academically attractive environment. UTD students have three different opportunities to take advantage of Marburg’s impressive offerings.

EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht 

The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Wiesbaden and Oestrich-Winkel, Germany, was founded in 1971. The university’s activities focus on 3 core areas: undergraduate, postgraduate programs and executive education. The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht has the right to award doctorate and habilitations. EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht emerged in summer 2010 from European Business School International University, Schloss Reichartshausen and the EBS Law School in addition to the EBS Business School was founded as a second faculty, is the first Business University in Germany. Besides attending courses in business, management and economics, all students take a course in philosophy that delivers fundamental knowledge in the philosophy of science and ethics. Furthermore, the EBS Coaching program is offered to all students and doctoral candidates. Each year, the EBS Symposium invites leading figures from the business world, students and journalists to the Rheingau. The University also offers professional continuing education programs for specialists and managers. EBS is a member of the academic section of the UN Global Compact, a global initiative to promote corporate citizenship.

O.P Jindal Global University

JGU is a non-profit global university established by the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act, 2009. JGU is established in memory of Mr. O.P. Jindal as a philanthropic initiative of Mr. Naveen Jindal, the Founding Chancellor. The University Grants Commission has accorded its recognition to O.P. Jindal Global University. The vision of JGU is to promote global courses, global programmes, global curriculum, global research, global collaborations, and global interaction through a global faculty. JGU is situated on a 70-acre state-of-the art residential campus in the National Capital Region of Delhi. Dublin City University

DCU is an ideal destination for students majoring in Science, Engineering, and Computing. Dublin City University (DCU) is Ireland's University of Enterprise. Situated on an 85 acre campus, DCU has grown rapidly in scale and performance since being established as a university in 1989. DCU prides itself on delivering excellence across all of its activities. Established in 1926, the Poznan University of Economics is one of the leading business schools in Poland. It is a state University currently attended by over 15.000 students. The PUE offers programmes at three academic levels (Bachelor, Master and PhD) as well professional post graduate studies and MBA courses. The University's main site is located in the centre of Poznan, a 15-minute walk away from the Old Town. The PUE has five faculties - the Faculty of Commodity Science, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy, the Faculty of International Economy and the Faculty of Management. Istanbul Kultur University
