International Commitment Protocol
The protocol for international partnerships is currently under review. It will be announced by October 1, 2014. For inquiries before this date, contact Rodolfo Hernandez at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Office of International Education (OIE) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is committed to meeting the diverse and changing needs of our growing university. The OIE looks forward to offering comprehensive, accessible, flexibly delivered coordination of international education opportunities to faculty and students.
If your academic unit or research group is considering formalizing an international collaboration, please follow the International Commitment Protocol. The design, review, and approval of a new international collaboration or the renewal of any existing international collaboration is subject to the Agreements Involving Joint and Dual Academic Awards: Policy and Procedures from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). For your reference, you may consult the Inventory of UT Dallas International Agreements.
The OIE provides three templates for new international collaborations:
1) The Agreement of Cooperation, recommended for an initial and general commitment;
2) The Affiliation Agreement, recommended for a detailed commitment, including research collaboration and intellectual property, and
3) The Exchange Program Agreement, recommended for student exchange mobility.
The Dean of the Academic Unit is requested to endorse the initiative. Please see a sample of the Memorandum for International Collaboration Endorsement.
The final design of the collaboration is subject to the approval of the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the UT System.
The OIE looks forward to providing the guidance for new international collaborative initiatives and ensuring the liability of our institutional commitments. The internationalization of UTD is only possible with our community enthusiasm and energy. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information at 972-883-4715.
