DID YOU KNOW that the Louvre Museum was originally a medieval fortress? Built by King Philippe Auguste in 1190, the fortress was later transformed into a luxury residence by François Ier in 1528. Today the Louvre has 60,000 square meters of exhibition rooms, spanning 11 milennia.
