Windows Client

Skype for Business is available for installation on personal and UTD computers. The installation software for personal computers can be downloaded through the Microsoft website. Most UTD computers are set up with Skype for Business automatically, but an installation can be requested by contacting the Helpdesk if it is not already installed.

Mac OS Client

Outlook Web App

Step 1

  • Log into OWA for staff/faculty or Office 365 for students
  • Click on the profile icon in the top right corner
  • Click Sign in to IM
Note: You may be signed into IM automatically upon log in

Step 2

  • Once you have logged in, you can set your current status on IM

Step 3

  • To send an IM, click the tiles box in the top left corner and click People

Step 4

  • From this screen, you can send messages to your contacts, access the directory, and search all users in the directory. Once you have located a user you wish to message, you can click on the link next to Send IM. This will open a new message window with the user
