IronPort Spam Quarantine

Release Emails to Your Inbox

You can review any items that have been quarantined by visiting the IronPort Spam Quarantine. Here you can confirm if an email is spam and move it from the quarantine to your inbox

Step 1

  • If you get an email from IronPort with a list of quarantined emails, you can click Release on any emails that are not spam. This will release the emails to your inbox. If a listed email is spam, no action is required. These quarantined emails are deleted after two weeks.

Step 2

  • To see your full list of quarantined messages, click View all quarantined messages on the IronPort email or log directly into IronPort Spam Quarantine.

Step 3

  • If there are any further messages in quarantine that require action, you can click the subject of the message to review its contents and determine whether it is spam.

Step 4

  • If you have quarantined emails, click the checkbox to make changes to multiple items
  • From the dropdown box labeled Select Action, select the appropriate action then click the Submit button
    • Release will release the emails to your inbox
    • Release and Add to Safelist will release the emails to your inbox and add the sender’s address to your safelist so further emails from that sender are not quarantined
    • Delete will permanently delete the email
  • Any emails which remain in your quarantine for 14 days are automatically deleted.

Add Senders to Your Safelist or Blocklist

If you find that IronPort is repeatedly placing emails from a non-spam address into quarantine, or letting emails from a spam address through to your inbox, you can add that address to your safelist or your blocklist to manually specify what IronPort should do with future emails from that address

Step 1

Step 2

  • Mouse over the Options dropdown at the top right corner of the page.
  • Click Safelist or Blocklist, depending on whether you want IronPort to stop or start blocking emails from an address.

Step 3

  • To add an address to the selected list, enter the address in the text field and then click Add to List.
  • There are three formats you can use, with varying degrees of specificity:
    • [email protected] will block emails only from that specific email address.
    • server.domain.com will block emails from any address that ends with @server.domain.com.
    • domain.com will block any email coming from that domain.
  • To remove an email from your safelist or blocklist, simply click the trash icon next to its entry.
