The Board of the Association for Computer Educators in Texas (ACET) will give up to ten conference grants to first year computer faculty or participants attending for the first time or returning after a hiatus of five years to the conference.
To qualify for one of these grants a person must be employed as a full-time teacher in a computer related discipline at any of the following levels: K-12, Junior or Community College, Technical School, University undergraduate or graduate level in either a public or private institution. To be considered as first year full-time the teacher may have just completed his or her first year as a full-time teacher during the 1996-97 academic year or be under a contract to teach as full-time faculty member for the 1997-98 academic year.
The grant will include the waiver of all fees required for attending the 1997 ACET conference including lunches, registration, and annual dues. The grant will not include any money for transportation, hotel rooms, pay for substitute, or meals other than lunches that are part of the normal conference registration.
In order to apply for one of these grants, an applicant must complete the application below and mail it to David McAnally, ACET President, Paris Junior College, 2400 Clarksville St., Paris, Texas 75460 or email the required information to him at dmcanally@paris.cc.tx.us by August 22, 1997.
Final decision will be made by the ACET board by September 1, 1997. Applicants will be notified by mail within five days after the final decision is made.

Please include when, where, name of school, discipline, describe courses taught, level (K-12, college, graduate school) , other things in teaching assignment such as lab vs lecture, workforce education vs academic, software, hardware. Also describe your educational preparation.
