2006 Region III Scholastic Championships

Presented by the UTD Chess Club in conjunction with the Dallas Chess Club.

Rounds: 5 Rounds, non-elimination; Rounds 1-3, G/30; rounds 4-5, G/45.

6 Rated Sections: Open to players who live or attend school in Region III.

USCF membership required; for rates go to www.uschess.org.

  • High School (grades 9-12) - Prizes:  Top 10 individuals, top 3 teams.
  • Middle School (grades 6-8/9) -  Prizes:  Top 10 individuals, top 3 teams.
  • Elementary (grades K-6) -  Prizes: Top 10 individuals, top 5 teams.
  • Elementary U800 (grades K-6) - Prizes: Top 10 individuals, top 5 teams.
  • Primary (grades K-3) - Prizes: Top 10 individuals, top 5 teams.
  • K-1 (grades pre-K-1) - Prizes: Top 7 individuals, top team.

    Entry fee for rated sections:  $25 if postmarked by 1/8/06, $36 after/on site.

    On site registration may result in ½ point first round bye.

    Add $5 for phone entries.  $10 for changes made after 1/12/06.

    Pre-payment requires complete information.

One Not-Rated Section:  Open to USCF and non-USCF members from any region; games will NOT be rated.

K-6 Not-RatedPrizes: Top 10 individuals, top 5 teams.

Entry fee for Not-Rated section:  $14 if postmarked by 1/8/06;

$20 after/on site.  Add $5 for phone entries.  $10 for changes made after 1/12/06. 

Pre-payment requires complete information.

Registration: 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.; Round 1 at 9:15 a.m; all others ASAP w/ 35 minute lunch.

On-site registration may result in ½ point 1st Round 1 bye.

One half-point bye allowed if requested before Round 2.

Medals to all participants.
