Credit Card Application

  • Why do I need a credit card?

Having a credit card means you don't have to carry a lot of cash on you. As long as you pay your balance in full each month you don't have to pay any financial charges. It is also essential for you to make online purchases.

  • Where do I get a credit card?

Many major credit card companies require that you have some credit history in order to apply, which means if you don't have a credit card before, they won't give you one. However, the following credit card companies are known to be student-friendly, applications can be done on their website: American Express, MBNA, Verizon, Citibank, Discover. Additional information can be found on websites like Student Credit. Make sure that you are applying for the credit cards for students.

Note: Many credit card companies will ask if you are a permanent US resident and will not issue a card to non-resident applicants.
