For Newcomers

        Arriving at a totally new environment without knowing any people there can be intimidating. To help you on your arrival, and adjust to the new campus, we compiled some information which we believe important and useful to you, and listed them in the left navigation bar. Hope they can help you to a smooth transition to UTD!

        We also launched a Mentor Buddy program to help you hooked with a volunteer, and make your transition as smooth as possible. Please feel free to contact any mentor buddy in the following list and ask your question and seek helps. They can help you on your academic questions, they can share some insightful info about the department/program with you. They can answer your questions, like where to open a bank account, where to go shopping, how to register a course, etc...  Just any sort of question that you feel free to ask!

         However, bear in mind, though, that they are normal students like you and me, and they might not know everything and they are busy with their own study and their life, too. But they are here before you, and they will try their best to help you out!

         Please note, if you need airport pickup or temp housing assistance, please sign up on our newcomer asistance request form. Buddies can't help you on that.
