About Idea Club

The IDEA Club at UTDallas is an official collegiate chapter of the in San Diego. This club was founded on October 17th, 2002--with the intention of being a forum where students, faculty, and staff can discuss biological origins.

Although this organization was originally created for people who are interested in discussing biological origins, the club founder, Wilston, decided to expand the discussion topics. Such topics will include the philosophy of science, the advancement of science, and other interesting issues within the realm of human thought. See [FAQ #10]. Ultimately, IDEA club meetings and events will focus on a variety of themes, pertaining to biological origins and other life issues, throughout the school year.

To find out more about the IDEA club, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions web page. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact a club officer.

IDEA Club Begins at University of Texas, Dallas (1/14/03)

This announcement is long overdue, however the IDEA Center is happy to announce that an IDEA Club has been started at the University of Texas, Dallas (UT Dallas). This is now the 7th official club to get off the ground, and, as always, we hope that a couple more are currently in the process of getting started.

The club's founder, Wilston Nkangoh, has a vision for the club that is broad, and hopes to discuss not only origins issues, but also issues related to philosophy of science, artificial intelligence, morality, skepticism, sociology, technology, and theology. As Wilston is a sophomore, we hope that this club will be around for a while, and look forward to the interested generated at the club at UT Dallas.

This club has been in the works since Wilston contacted the IDEA Center about a year ago, and this announcement itself is anti-climactic, as the club has already been in existence at UT Dallas for a few months. Wilston has worked hard and already started a website for the club at http://www.utdallas.edu/orgs/idea/.

Please check their News Page for information about upcoming meetings. If you are interested in more information, Wilston can be contacted at Wilston@student.utdallas.edu, or you can visit their "About IDEA Club" page.
