What does IEEE@UTD do?
We are committed to creating an
environment in which the students can network with each other,
the ECS faculty, as well as professionals in the area. It
is our goal to keeps the communication flow between the students
and the decision makers open and available. We also aim to
give students a chance to get out there and know what is going
on in the realm of technology in the "real world."
How can I become a member of
the UTD branch of IEEE?
Membership is easy! All you
have to do is become a national IEEE member. You can
join the national IEEE
here.
T-shirts will also be available for purchase soon.
I'm not a member of the UTD
branch of IEEE, but can I attend meetings?
Yes! Everyone is welcome at
our meetings. If you are at all interested in what we do,
feel free to stop in one of our bi-weekly general meetings.
There is certain to be an intriguing guest, as well as FREE
PIZZA!
NOTE: If you want admittance to the "big event" of each
semester, you need to be a member.
I am a Computer Science major
and I was interested in IEEE@UTD. Is it only for
engineers?
Of course
not! IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers, Inc. Thus, you fit into the
"Electronics" portion perfectly! There are actually many
CS majors that attend our meetings in addition to the general
EE, SE, TE, etc. You are certainly more than welcome to
join our branch of IEEE!
I have some amazing ideas, and I want to be
able to contribute to the IEEE@UTD. How can I do this?
The executive council meets generally every
Wednesday evening at 8:30pm at the IEEE office in ECSN 2.320 to
discuss upcoming events. If you are interested in
attending such a meeting send us an
e-mail. |
