Certification
Basically to be certified, you have
to pass the pharm tech exam. It's
a process where a non-governmental
association or agency grants
recognition to an individual who has
met certain predetermined qualifications

This is done by PTCB. There are two parts to being a Certified Pharmacy Technician(CphT) First, pharmacy technicians must pass the national PTCE.
Once a pharmacy technician has passed the exam, he or she mayuse the
designation of CPhT. Second, to continue to hold certification,a CPht is
required to obtain twenty hours of continuing education forcertification within
two years of original certification or previous
recertification.
Eligibility Requirements
You must have received a high school diploma, a GED, or the
foreign equivalent by the application receipt deadline and have
never been convicted of a felony to sit for the PTCB examination

UPDATE!!!
The PTCB has changed its format from a pencil-paper exam to a
computer based test. That's not all. Starting with the February exam,
students will be allotted a "window" to take the test in, vs.
just one
Saturday morning. This new implementation will allow you to receive
your preliminary scores right on the spot, enable you to retake the test
more efficiently, and cut down on actual test taking time. If you have
anymore questions please visit site (frequently asked questions)
or email nishamalhotra28@yahoo.com
