The Disciples of the Texas Bitter Queens is like a gay “Saturday Night Live” for the modern audience. This original play, set in East Texas , focuses on hot subjects, such as: gays and religion, gays in the work force, and even the extreme “coming out” experience. These “over the top” scenes point out the ridiculousness of homophobia, and showcase how two bitter gays react. So, if you love “Seventh Heaven,” “Gilmore Girls,” and “Golden Girls,” you might want to stay home and watch reruns. If you are looking for a cheap laugh and a wet bar*, come to UTD's performance of “The Disciples of the Texas Bitter Queens”. This play has not yet been rated and is for mature and open-minded audiences.
*wet bar is not included! |
